I spent a completely negligible amount of time all weekend thinking about my thesis. Bliss!
Ben organised a nice little surprise over the weekend: he secretly bought tickets to the Wil Anderson show 'Wilosophy' at the Octagon on Saturday. As you may well remember, stand-up comedy is our 'thing': we went to see a spurt of shows just after our ...

I was sitting in the bedroom trying to do some work, despairing at my brain's inability to function.
As I was about get really rather annoyed with life in general, my husband popped in to give me a cup of tea and a bowl of chocolate mousse.
This is why I recommend marriage to anyone and everone.

Our house has a ''study'' - a small, dark room with the computer, a sofa, a filing cabinet and two book cases in it. I also have a work desk (one of those lovely old fashioned roller top ones), which is too small to actually do any work on. Basically, the study is a prime example of claustrophobia-enducing clutter.
So, I declared the study should ...

Right, for anyone who was absolutely gagging for more wedding photos, our lovely photographer has put some of the proper, official ones online here.
For anyone planning a wedding, I thoroughly recommend DeRay Simcoe Photography - they blog, too!

So, the wedding was on Sunday, and a good time was had by all (I hope).
Ben and I got ready together at home with our bridal party, and headed off to Rebold Hill for photos. Our ceremony started at 5pm, so we thought we should take advantage of sunlight and have photos taken earlier. It also meant that guests didn't have to wait around for ...

Oh my dear blog, how I have been ignoring you!
There there, there there.
The main excuse for my absence is the fact that I have in fact been doing work, of all things. Now I also have plenty of relatives to tend to, so I'm still very busy. And tired.
I'm also getting married on Sunday, so in celebration of that: the first person to ...

Given tomorrow is the second anniversary of our engagement, I thought I'd share with you the tale of how it all came to pass to begin with. So, we shall begin with the two specific moments when he did not propose (despite me expecting he would), ending with the fine day he actually did. As a bonus feature, you get to see just how shallow I can be. ...

To everyone (mainly Eleanor) who scoffed at the idea of me posting a photo from my first dress fitting -
well okay, I won't. I'm not a complete attention junkie (debatable, yes). And besides, Ben's mother would skin me alive if she thought there might be the smallest chance in the world I'd made it possible for Ben to see the photos (I'm ...

Dear fellow bride,
I've been watching you on a few wedding-related fora, and thought it my duty to guide you in expressing yourself in a way which does not make you, and by extrapolation all of our kind, look completely clueless.
First - your dress is not supposed to compliment your jewellery. Vera Wang does some fairly impressive stuff, but I ...

I have learnt my lesson - if I blog about feeling sick, I should return to blog again as soon as I feel better - lest people get worried. (A special little thank you to everyone who at least pretended to be concerned!)
So, I have recovered.
Aside from that, there's not much to write. I've let the due date of a couple of inter-library loans ...
