I didn't want to blog about today at first, because it feels like such a fiasco. Thinking about it more, though, I decided to do it anyway. Basically, I have two kinds of days. The first are the days where I know what I'm working on, have a clear plan, and there's an end in sight. Today did not fit into that category. Today was one of my ...

What a roundabout and redundant journey! It turns out that all the stuff I was working on this morning regarding differentiating functions isn't going to be needed for the proof I'm writing. Just continuity is enough. While I could have written off this morning as yet another waste of time, I choose to see at as an opportunity I took to brush up ...

I really haven't been productive (thesis-)writing-wise today. I found there was a niggling problem with what I was trying to prove. Fortunately, some webpages and a colleague came to the rescue, and with what appears to be some quite legal hand-waving special consideration, it should be OK. I've just returned from the little deli on Broadway. I purchase my lunch there roughly twice per week. Today, my selection was a salami, cheese and and salad roll.
I have actually done some work. I produced the following graph to verify that my differentiation calculations were correct. And it turns out that they were, so yay me! After lunch, the ...

Since my last posting, I've had to get a caffeine hit. Just regular black coffee does me fine. And we have one of those instant boiling water units, so it's all too easy to make :) I'm currently enjoying this revitalising liquid.
I finally was able to check my other email inbox. I had to restart my computer though, and for some reason it took ...

Yes I'm finally in at the office. There's a reason it took me a little longer to get here this morning, which I will hopefully get to talk about in another post later today. There are a couple of noteworthy things I want to mention about my journey by bus this morning. Firstly, congratulations to the people at Transperth who made the change to the ...
