This is a lecture I wrote for Computer Science graduates taking a unit in Scientific Communication. It talks about writing skills that are valid across general scientific writing. It draws from work by Knuth and van Leunen at Stanford, and Strunk's "Elements of Style". If anyone's interested, I have others on including symbolic terms in your writing, writing papers, publishing, writing posters, writing talks etc.
