Day In The Life (Part I)

Yes I'm finally in at the office. There's a reason it took me a little longer to get here this morning, which I will hopefully get to talk about in another post later today. There are a couple of noteworthy things I want to mention about my journey by bus this morning. Firstly, congratulations to the people at Transperth who made the change to the bus seats. Some of the newer buses now have bigger gaps between the seats on each side. This is a tremendous help, and my shoulder thanks you for it. You see, the previous distance between seats was just wide enough for the end of a strap of my backback to fit through and get caught, so that when I came to stand up, I would put the strap over my shoulder and try to get up, only to unexpectedly have pain in my shoulder - I would in fact be trying to lift the entire pair of seats despite their solid attachment to the bus floor, because the backpack strap was caught in the gap between them. This bigger gap ensures that doesn't happen!

The second interesting thing was that I had life's biggest questions answered - how do public transport inspectors check you've paid when you use your Smartrider? The answer is that they use this snazzy little green device to get a reading of whether you're currently tagged on or not. I think the inspector this morning (first one I've come across since Smartrider has been introduced) was a little disappointed that he couldn't fine anyone.

So far this morning, I've checked one of my email accounts. Of the seven new emails, six were spam, usually something to do with s0ftware, r0lex, or some kind of amazing medication. I tried checking my other email account, but my computer is running super slow at the moment due to the simulations being carried out. Consequently, it froze as soon as I got to my inbox. My only remedy was the task manager through the 3-fingered salute of Ctrl-Alt-Del. Well, time to do some "proper work". More newsbreaks are scheduled throughout the day.
