My Actual Research Space - Well, it was ...
Since Karina challenged us all post a picture of our workspace, I've been meaning to link to pictures I took of my carrel in the Scholars' Centre at the end of 2005, just before I submitted my thesis. Since Wayne's accepted the challenge, I thought I should, too. (And congratulations to Wayne as well on winning the MyRS most popular 2006 post camera competition!).
Anyway, this is what my thesis-writing workspace looked like at the end of 2005:
As you might gather, my thesis had a large film component, although I didn't actually talk about many of the films on the posters around my carrel; I just found them comforting! (That said, I can see a poster for the anime film Metropolis in there, and I'm lecturing on that in about a month.)
