About me
I'm doing my PhD at the University of Western Australia, in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, and this blog is about my research. Some of it will make it into my thesis, some of it won't. Sometimes I write about topics that are slightly to the side of my thesis: events, theories and people that affect how I think and who I am.
My research interests are varied, and include:
* Social movements: especially new social movements and the global justice movement.
* The debate over genetically modified organisms, with a focus on India.
* Free and open source software: using it, the ideologies associated with it, and the links between pro-FOSS activists and other movements.
* The relationship between politics and the new media, particularly the way in which social movements are using new media.
* Critical theories of science and technology.
