Fundraising goodness! Philanthropy galore!
I am here to promote not one, but two worthy fundraising efforts.
First being the Dr. Plonk film night held on the 7th of September at Cinema Paradiso. The screening is hosted by Limina , a peer-reviewed journal published by postgraduates right here at UWA. The price of the tickets ($15) includes free wine and cheese, and profit goes towards organising an academic conference in 2008. There will also be a raffle draw on the night with lots of spectacular awards. Accost me on the street, or email me, for tickets.
The second fundraising drive is the RTRFM Radiothon. RTR 92.1FM is an independent radio station run by volunteers, and as running a radio station and supporting Australian music is no cheap feat - the airwaves need YOU. The station will throw a whole world of goodies your way if you subscribe by Sunday 19th of August, and student subscribtions are an entirely affordable $35. If you manage to subscribe between 12noon and 3pm tomorrow, Tuesday 14th, your support will count towards brownie points for the magnificerous Sarah Tout (She With the Sultry On-Air Voice), whose program Out to Lunch will be running at the time.
