I really need to stop dozing off during the news

Right, another dream post. This one was about Humanities postgrads - so a lot of you were in it, though not in a starring role. Those went to Leith and Rob*. :-)

Leith had organised a meeting for hundreds of people (that's how many Humanities postgrads there were :-) about the dilemma we were all facing: having to pick, choose and hire our own examiners. He was quite concerned that no-one was guiding us through the process, although it was apparantly "really political". So the idea of the workshop was to help us not burn our bridges by our choice of examiners. Unfortunately Leith was not able to give us much advice about the issue at hand, because after he had spent far too long defending Alan Carpenter's inability to help us out with our theses (apparantly he, as the former Minister for Education, should have been giving us the talk), Rob forcibly removed him from the room.

After the meeting I was eaten by a bear.

*and my mother, but only because she said she was very annoyed at not having been invited to the meeting.
