Hei Mirva!
Instead of venting further about the causes of my magnificently stressed state, I thought I'd dedicate one post to Mirva, a jet-setting freelance journalist who welcomed in the new year in Sydney, having lived in Perth for a few months, working among other places at UWA.
Mirva, a fellow Finn, contacted me after noticing this blog. We met up and she suffered with grace and dignity while I compared different sheet sets at Target, unable to decide between them. We also went through some of the odder yet more common questions us expat Nordics have had to field (yes, we have electricity; no, it's not a communist country; no, it's not "pretty much the same as Sweden") before she faced one of the more elaborate tortures Western society has to offer - a dentist.
So - yay for blogs connecting people (insert plea to allow anonymous comments) !
