Each year the Graduate Research School, in collaboration with the University's Office of Industry and Innovation, puts on a Commercialisation Workshop Retreat. It's held at the Yanchep Club Capricorn Resort over two days, so you get to spend the night there and enjoy the resort. This year it is on November 30th and December 1st. It costs $50 to register, but the rest of your costs, including accomodation and meals, are subsidized by the University.

It's a great way to find out about Intellectual Property, Spin-off Companies, and how to commercialize research ideas. Topics covered include:
