Farmers might hate pretty shoes, but pretty shoes that clack when you walk down corridors make you feel smart. As do professionally shaped eyebrows.*

Other things that make you (well, me at least) feel smart:

*having nice pens
*getting hair done just right (and other comments that set the feminist movement back 50 years...)
*hanging around dumb people :-)
*making green tea the gonfu-cha way
*dancing along to 99 Luftballons pretending you actually understand the lyrics

...okay that last one may also make you feel like an idiot. But a happy, bouncy, anti-Cold War idiot!
